March 16, 2020

Dear PV Community,

After some very difficult discussions we have decided to close operations beginning tomorrow and through the end of March. As our previous statement stated we stressed the diligence of our staff and personal responsibility as being paramount to staying open. At this time we feel it can’t be ‘enough’, and that encouraging people to leave their homes when all health agencies are asking us to stay there is wrong. We share contact with tennis balls, pickle balls, weights, handles, levers, and many other spaces. Doubling our staff wouldn’t be enough to mitigate the risks of the strong willed COVID-19 virus. The pinnacle of both our life and business models is doing the right thing. As difficult as it is to lock up we need to follow that philosophy now, hoping and praying that it won’t be for long.

There is so much we cannot control, and the exponential spread of a single case is alarming. The PV community and all of the communities we live in depend on all of us doing what we can to abate this spread. We feel a strong sense of responsibility to conform to the wishes of those who are much smarter than we are, even when others make other choices. We feel it is prudent to be part of the solution.

Our country has the advantage of following other parts of the world with this crisis and learning from their experiences. We don’t want to be part of a situation where we suffer as a whole because we refused to learn from the mistakes of others.

We will take this opportunity to do some overdue maintenance that requires us having our doors closed. Along with all of you we are looking for a ‘bright side’. Other than some improvements the #1 outcome is doing our part in keeping our community healthy.

We can’t say it any better than one of our wonderful fitness instructors, Tiffany Larson: Get outside if possible; move, breathe, stretch and strengthen. You are not alone! We are praying for the stability for our country and its economy as well as for the health and well-being of its people.

Thank you for your understanding as we navigate this truly difficult and confusing time. Please check our website and Facebook by March 28th for updates moving forward.

Sincerely,

John and Jacci Gambucci, Owners

Jean Sundblad, General Manager
